Welcome to Referral Rock! If you are reading this article, you are likely new to the Referral Rock software. We're excited to help get your referral program setup as quickly as possible.
This article will outline the image and text deliverables that you will need for the design of your referral program. You may access all of the pages below by visiting the program editor inside of Referral Rock.
The member portal is where your members (the people that are referring your business to new customers or users) will be able to register, share and get updates for your referral program.
There are some settings that carry throughout the entire member portal experience. You may edit all of these settings by going to the Branding section of the member portal editor.
A: Portal Title and Favicon
When viewed on an internet browser, you may change the default tab title for your referral program as well as the default favicon image.
B: Header Logo/Icon (Default and Mobile):
By default, Referral Rock will aim to automatically populate this image with the icon associated with the website indicated when creating your account.
If you would like to change this image, we recommend using an image that is 400 x 70 pixels
You may also choose to use a different header for mobile devices. For mobile we recommend an image that is 200 x 70 pixels. If you choose not to use a mobile header, we will use the default header when viewed on a mobile device.
C: Custom Portal Navigational Items
By default, we will include a link out to your website (as indicated during account setup) on the member portal.
You can edit this URL and add up to four (4) additional navigational links to the top of the member portal.
D: Portal Accent Color
The accent color is used on the menu bar, buttons and icons throughout the member portal. By default this color is set to #9c9c9c, but we recommend choosing a color that is in alignment with your brand!
The registration page is the default way that members can sign up for your referral program. Members can register by either filling out their name and email, or through their Facebook or Google account using Single-Sign-On (SSO).
For the registration page, you will need:
A: Registration Image:
The registration image should be used to inform and incentivize new members to register for your program.
We recommend an image that is 545 x 150 pixels
B: Descriptive Title & Text (Optional):
If you would like to use more than just an image to inform new members about your program, we recommend a few short sentences that describe your referral program and/or incentives to members for making referrals.
C: Register Block Language
You may change any of the default text (with the exception of the Facebook/Google buttons) under the Language > Registration section of the member portal editor.
The member dashboard is the main page of the member portal. It is where members are directed once they have registered/logged in. From this page, members can learn about your program, share to their networks and keep up to date on their referrals and rewards.
For the member dashboard you will need:
A: Dashboard Image
Similar to the registration image (above), the dashboard image should inform members about the referral program and incentivize them to share.
We recommend an image that is 545 x 150 pixels.
B: Descriptive Title & Text (Optional):
If you would like to use more than just an image to inform members about your program, we recommend a few short sentences that describe your referral program and/or incentives to members for making referrals.
C: Share Block Language
You may change the default text displayed in the share block under the Share button on the member portal editor.
D: Menu Bar labels
If you would like to change the labels of the menu tabs (My Dashboard, My Referrals, My Rewards, My Account), you may do so under the Language > General section of the member portal editor.
E: Dashboard Statistic Labels
To change the text in the dashboard statistic section, go to Language > Dashboard in the member portal editor
The messages page in the program editor allows you to change the default messaging that members will use for social media, text and email sharing from their member dashboard.
When members click on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Pinterest from their member dashboard, this is the default message that will display for them to share.
You can edit the default image and text for this message by selecting the Social button on the messages page.
For image sizes, 1200 x 630 pixels works best. Since text space is limited for this message, it's best practice to let the social media image do most of the selling.
When on mobile, members are able to share via text message and WhatsApp. We recommend a short, punchy sentence or two that members will feel comfortable sending to their friends. Remember to keep it casual and conversational.
You can edit this default text by selecting the Edit Message button on the messages page.
From the member dashboard, members are able to share via the email platform of their choice. Make email sharing easy by creating a casual, personalized default email for them to use.
Because third party email systems don't allow for pre-formated emails, you cannot format this email, however you can use merge tags to personalize the email for the member.
You can edit the default email text by selecting the Edit Email button on the messages page.
Referral Rock allows you to build out a fully customized webpage to host your program's referral landing page or form. If you are planning to build out your referral page via the Referral Rock web page, please visit our Referral Page Web Builder article which details how to use our page builder.
Emails & Notifications
From inside of Referral Rock, you have the ability to setup automated emails to send to your members and referrals throughout the referral process. All of these emails are customizable on the Emails & Notifications page in the program editor.
Visit our Email & Notifications help article to learn more about these automated emails in detail.
General Email Settings
While each email copy is individually customizable, there are a few general settings that apply to all Referral Rock emails that you will need to setup. These can be found by going to Settings > Branding > Email or clicking here.
